The draft Kerrville 2050 Comprehensive Plan is available for review ahead of public hearings scheduled for June 7 (Planning and Zoning Commission, 4:30 p.m., City Hall) and June 12 (City Council, 6:00 p.m., City Hall). At the public hearings, there will be a presentation highlighting the features of the recommended plan, followed by an opportunity for public input. Adoption of the ordinance is set for June 26, 6:00 p.m. at the Cailloux Center.
The Kerrville 2050 Comprehensive Plan covers land use, economic development, housing, Downtown, parks and the river corridor, public facilities and services, and other topics and includes a detailed implementation strategy. This plan takes an approach to growth that focuses on 11 strategic assets in the community as the most likely places for future investment and reinvestment. This concept evolved and was endorsed by the community over the course of several public meetings and other opportunities for input involving hundreds of Kerrville stakeholders. The plan describes the importance of this process and how it shaped the creation of the plan.
